RMG delivered Structural and Civil Engineering services for the Bendigo Showgrounds Upgrades, part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program. The project revitalises one of the region’s main community venues, improving accessibility, safety and functionality while preserving its important role as a venue for cultural, agricultural and sporting events.

The upgrades ensure the centre considers traditions such as the 165 year old Bendigo Agricultural Show, while providing a facility that meets the evolving needs of the community.

Delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria. Works were carefully staged around the showgrounds’ active events calendar, with the annual Bendigo Agricultural Show proceeding as normal throughout construction. Construction began in 2025 and is expected to be completed in late 2026.

The scope of works includes:

• A new multipurpose pavilion function centre with flexible event space
• Redevelopment of the grass arena
• Replacement of existing light towers with new energy efficient LED lighting
• Upgrades to all four entrances and perimeter fencing
• New trafficable asphalt surface for additional parking and improved access to exhibition spaces
