RMG project management services successfully oversaw a $9 million redevelopment of Jackson School in St Albans. The project aimed to create a modern and functional learning environment for the school’s Prep to Year 12 students with mild intellectual disabilities.
Understanding the unique needs of Jackson School’s students, RMG, along with the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) and the architect, opted for an innovative approach: modular construction. This method minimised disruption to the school by fabricating key sections of the new buildings (middle-years learning centre and therapy & prep hub) off-site.
Once complete, these pre-fabricated modules were transported and craned into place, significantly reducing on-site construction time. This minimised disruption to the school environment, ensuring minimal impact on the school days of students and staff.
This approach proved to be a key component of the successful project, prioritising the well-being of Jackson School’s students throughout the redevelopment process.
