RMG was engaged by Y2 Architecture to provide structural and civil engineering services for the Dja Dja Wurrung Corporate & Community Centre.

The project includes construction of the following:

• A new office
• Community and conference centre
• Gallery
• Auditoria space

Located on the former Golden Gully School site, the site works included extensive civil works to consider the terracing of the existing site and incorporate user and visitor parking on the site.

Drawing inspiration from the Djarra People’s ideology of “Bunjil” the innovative, design integrates a timber roof pavilion supported on steel Y columns to minimise the visible vertical structure and create a floating aesthetic. Using an intuitive design approach, a rational solution was developed to fit within the architectural design intent and the client’s aspirations.
