RMG was engaged to deliver structural and civil engineering services for the refurbishment of the heritage-listed G Block and expansion of the existing E wing building at Bendigo Senior Secondary College.

The project involved a thoughtful regeneration of the heritage building dating from the 1870s, while preserving and valuing its historical and architectural elements. The renovation improved the learning spaces through a design that included use of natural light, flexible learning environments, integration of adjacent underused spaces, and the bold use of colour and geometric form.

The new E wing will provide better connectivity between the existing campus buildings and is a key component of the broader campus masterplan. Construction of both new and refurbished areas within the campus was carefully staged to minimise disruption to school functions.

WINNER: LEA Modernisation (Large) Project Award Winner 2024. This recognition was received at the Excellence in Learning Spaces 2024 Victorian & Tasmanian Chapter Awards, a ceremony that honours outstanding achievements in learning environment design.
