RMG were engaged by the Buloke Shire Council to undertake a civil design for the rehabilitation of an existing floodway along Yeungroon Road that was damaged by the Victorian flood event in October 2022.

RMG worked collaboratively with Buloke Shire Council to provide a design solution that best mitigates risk of damage in future flood events.

The design solution included the following elements:

• Reinforced concrete deck with edge beams
• Cement treated crushed rock bedding
• Extensive rock beaching provided upstream and downstream of the floodway
• Salvaging and re-setting the existing culvert
• Restoring a smooth vertical alignment through the floodway
• Restoring compliant road crossfall and tie-ins

A set of detailed design plans and electronic set-out information was produced for the purposes of construction.
