RMG was engaged to complete the civil engineering design work for the Mitiamo Water Storage Upgrade.

The project aimed to replace the existing lower basin which was not a reliable water source for the Mitiamo township due to the water quality, with high algae levels in the warmer months.

Project design elements included:

• Rising main, valving and instruments such a flow metre
• Installation of new poly tanks
• Pipework and valves for new tanks
• Pump shed
• Gate access
• Other ancillary works

These upgrades were essential to ensure the Mitiamo water supply network operated efficiently, safely and met the township’s future growth needs. With the completed upgrades, the town will receive good quality water consistently irrespective of seasonal changes.
