RMG provided compliance and surveillance inspection services to the Department of Transport and Planning (DoTP) as part of the Seymour-Avenel Road Bridge upgrades on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury works.
The project involved the installation of new bridge beams over the rail corridor to enable safe passage of double-stacked freight trains along this key regional route.
Our team worked closely with project stakeholders to ensure construction activities met required standards and did not compromise the state-managed road network. The upgrade featured large precast concrete beams manufactured offsite in Melton and lifted into place to form the 35 metre long bridge structure. The new bridge sits 3.2 metres higher than the original and is supported by 170,000 tonnes of locally sourced soil used to build the approach embankments.
By drawing on experience from earlier Tranche 1 works, RMG helped deliver a smooth and compliant outcome for this significant infrastructure upgrade, improving freight efficiency and supporting more reliable delivery of everyday goods.
