RMG was engaged by the Department of Transport and Planning to project manage the $3.2 million safety improvement upgrades to the Midland Link Highway, Midland Highway to Magills Lane in Maindample, Central Victoria.

Over eight months, the team oversaw the upgrade of 2.2km of roads, implementing crucial safety features. Despite challenges, including a winter shutdown period, environmental considerations were prioritised, including working closely with advisers and Traditional Land Owners to minimise tree removal and environmental impacts.

Project works included:

• Wide centreline treatment
• Supply and installation of safety barriers
• Pavement rehabilitation and widening
• Drainage improvements including kerb and channel
• Removal of road side hazards

The result is an improved and safer journey for an important truck route.
