The Macedon Ranges Regional Sports Precinct is a major community hub, located across two interconnected sites in New Gisborne at the intersection of Hamilton Road and Baringo Road.

As the largest capital works project ever undertaken by Macedon Ranges Shire Council, the precinct was designed to enhance community access and safety. A key part of Stage One included significant upgrades to local transport infrastructure. Alongside our project management of the overall precinct, RMG delivered the civil components of the transport infrastructure upgrades on site.

The existing offset intersection at Hamilton and Baringo Roads previously experienced high volumes of vehicle and pedestrian traffic, particularly during school drop-off and pick-up times. These traffic levels exceeded the capacity of the original layout and required an upgrade to support the precinct’s operations.

Project scope included:

• Construction of internal carparks
• Upgrades to neighbouring roads
• Drainage works
• Delivery of a new roundabout at the intersection of Hamilton Rd and Baringo Rd

These works aim to improve traffic flow and safety at this vital entry point to the precinct.
