Regional Roads Victoria – Safe Systems Road Improvement Program Team (SSRIP), Road Safety Barriers
RMG was engaged by Regional Roads Victoria – Safe Systems Road Improvement Program Team (SSRIP) to design Road Safety Barriers as part of the Victorian Government Towards Zero Initiative.
The installation of Road Safety Barriers is a key component of the Towards Zero Initiative, with research indicating that when Road Safety Barriers are installed on regional roads they reduce the risk of Death or Serious Injury by 85%.
Due to the significant benefits of Road Safety Barriers the Safe Systems Road Improvement Program required the installation of Road Safety Barriers on a large scale, covering much of the Victorian Road Network.
RMG worked together with Regional Roads Victoria to provide Road Safety Barrier Designs within tight project timeframes. RMG was able to achieve this by bringing together its specialist Road Safety Barriers Designers to provide design for various situations, this included designs on the Calder Freeway, Hume Freeway, Mornington Freeway, Frankston Freeway, Midland Highway, Melton Highway, Beechworth-Wodonga Road, Pascoe Vale Road, Somerton Road, Sunshine Avenue, Vineyard Road and Koroit Creek Road.
